Companion Animal “Heart Talk” with Young Living Essential Oils (Part 2)

The ABCs of Heart Talk

Heart Talk is also about keeping pollutants low; exposure to too many environmental poisons is known to not only affect our pets’ health, but their behavior as well. Here is a simple approach that can cement the bond of trust and love between you and your companion.

A. Start the introduction of essential oils, especially for smaller animals, by first using Thieves® Household Cleaner to clean your home. This is an easy way to assist all immune systems. Thieves cleaner is safe to use in homes, aviaries, barns, and all other places where our best friends live.

B. Use Young Living’s TheraPro Diffuser for environmental modifications. A simple method of establishing a healthy environment is to set up the diffuser with 5 minutes on at low volume and 20 minutes off. Set this way, a bottle of essential oil can last for several weeks.

Keep these three essential oil blends on hand for diffusing:

  • Thieves is useful for support in stressful situations, such as adding a new pet, changing homes, or family changes.
  • Purification can healthily deodorize a space and also act as an insect repellent.
  • Peace Calming will help address extreme behaviors, from shy to aggressive. This blend supports and balances the autonomic nervous system, which is perfect for stressful situations.

C. Create a floral spray as a safe, effective insect repellant for instant, portable application.

Take a 1-ounce cobalt-blue glass spray bottle and add:

3 drops Purification essential oil blend
2 drops peppermint essential oil
2 drops lavender essential oil

Fill the bottle to the top with distilled water. (Increase measurements incrementally for larger bottles.) Spray mixture lightly on your pet’s feet, back, tail, or throat. For the tips of the ears, spray mixture on your fingers then rub on your pet’s ears. Don’t forget to spray yourself as well! This floral spray is totally safe—even when your pet decides to lick it off!

Wishing worlds of success to you and your companion,
